EP 1 Download: [Vulnerability is Sexy]

No streaming services? No internet?

No Problem!

Welcome to the early release of my very first EP: [Vulnerability is Sexy]. I’m not very fond of modern streaming services so I’ve decided to put the art all up here ahead of the mainstream release tomorrow on 13th Feb 2026.

Just download stream or download the music from here, it’s all yours to listen to as you please, forever.

All track artworks were created by creative powerhouse icon Charlotte Evergreen, either digitally or by hand.

Tired

I wrote this when I felt frustrated and helpless towards learning how the world works, feeling despair at the fultility of a situation, or knowing that you’re being lied to. It was written a couple of years ago, though the themes of conspiracy and injustice are not by any means new, and very relevant today.

Featuring vocalist Omnigravity and bassist Terry Romanio, the song features a transition, which is a metaphor in many ways. A transition in mindset, energy, and hope perhaps. The lyrics are at times left intentionally vague to invite the listener to think independenty and apply the lines of questioning to their own world views and biases. A common theme in the art works are sun and moon, which among other dualities reflect the duality of the masculine and feminine which I personally have been exploring / struggling with / been on a journey to accept within myself.

In many of the lines, I intend to question the patriarchal messaging which has been shoved down many men’s throats in all arenas of society in an attempt to keep them functioning as mindless heartless drones, only living half a life. The language to explore these ideas were imparted to me from the book ‘The Will To Change’ by Bell Hooks.

The song is hopeful, envisioning a more enlightened and united/peaceful world. There is a feeling of disconectedness and numbness however, which is why the subject is looking out at the world from a window. This track attempts to intertwine EDM elements with RnB & Hip-Hop.

Don’t Catch Feelings (DCF)

Often times in love (or after a connection), we are reminded of someone by the things they leave behind. Whether it be a netflix login, a pair of shorts, a bottle of olive oil (or in this case, a single strand of hair), this song is for those who are reminded of a past love… or fling by something left behind. In the early stages of romance, games of seduction often influence the connection (I am rather autistic, I suffer the most in this stage). The seduction games may involve feigning indifference, or portraying a facade of mystery, and can be quite exciting for all parties involved.

DCF explores the loneliness felt in solitude, but also the familiarity and certain comfort that single life provides. The lantern Charlotte included in the art could represent the hope of finding a partner, or finding yourself; becoming who you were meant to perhaps be the person you’re meant to be with.

DnB and Hardstyle elements were incorporated into DCF.

taste like

One appreciating the artwork below could appreciate the dissonance and pain experienced by someone in the process of introspection — * a mechanical logical mind built for puzzle solving and imagination attempting to understand (and control) the irrational emotional heart / reptilian brain designed for survival and reproduction. This duality is further compounded and expressed by the reccuring theme of sun and moon in the background.

‘Taste Like’ expresses an internal turmoil felt when trying to remain in control of ones feelings while being enthralled in the emotional and hormonal throes of limerence *, and is illustrated wonderfully by Charlotte Evergreen in her artwork shown below. The song was inspired of all things, by a sock found on the floor after a one night stand.

”Taste like’ incorporates some Arabic lyrics which alude to sex and consent *, and is primarily a DnB song which is derived from an earlier experimental electro-mix. I plan to release an extended version of this track later this year. I’m not sure why I left the title in lower case. I think it’s because the song tries not to take itself so seriously.

Special

There must come a period in life where one looks back and wonders if they made the right choices, and nostalgically recalls the dreams and hopes of their younger self. You know that feeling when you see something you posted online a while ago, or see a picture of your younger self, and think (somewhat unhealthily) “Damn, What an idiot. They have no idea what’s coming”?

This writing of this song was informed in no small way by that feeling.

This song actually came to life while I was hanging out with my amazing old housemate ‘Manish’. I was playing the guitar next to him and he was playing percussion with nothing more than an empty milk bottle. I couldn’t have written this song without him.

The second verse is performed by a dear old friend of mine, Tina Bear, and the guitar is by Viet Le.

When I look at the art Charlotte created for this song, I see a being surfing on fire through a mountain of water and dreams. The theme of duality is still present, as water and fire are often thought to be ‘opposite elements’. The mountain may symbolise a mountain to be overcome, a metaphor for the ever present task of overcoming one’s past, and one’s self — often through acceptance.

Stormling

‘Stormling’ may be the most technically ambitious and complex music project I have ever attempted so far. It is also the stylistic outlier in this 5 song EP. It contains no lyrics, though I have attempted to infuse the sound with themes of Rebirth, Journey, discovery, Triumph, Self Discovery, and Pain. The imagery I had in mind was an Electro Whale, an industrial complex, and a battlefield on fire.

One listener told me that the song sounded like ‘Cardiac Arrest’. ‘The song ‘Stormling’ was initiated during a parallel play session with a visual artist.

Charlottes art below brilliantly captures the feeling or idea of being born a new, as perhaps a super natural or ethereal being. This is what it feels like to find yourself. It feels like tapping into a deep knowing or divinity that you could never place your finger on, though intuitively knew that you had within you all along. Notice the multiple layers of duality in the protagonists hands, and in the sky in the background. I like the trees, reminiscient of OSRS.

‘Stormling’ was created with trance, techno, orchestral, and progressive elements.

Well… That’s it!

Enjoy folks.

Footnotes

* Shout out to Mr Tham for teaching me the word ‘Limerance’ in highschool , it means being madly in love and / or not being sure if your love is being reciprocated

* Yes I know that is an em dash but I did not use AI to write any of this—nor will AI have any part in the creation of music or art that I am involved in if I have anything to do with the decision. Though I do think we should start adding spaces in between the dashes and the words — it looks more aesthetically pleasing to me.

* Look into the tea metaphor for consent
